Income Levels from Presargonic Ĝirsu
Income Levels from Presargonic Ĝirsu

This database includes the income of almost 1800 individuals which they received from the Presargonic (ca. 2500-2400 BCE) organization called Emunus located in Girsu (a city in modern day southern Iraq), based on cuneiform administrative documents. This includes monthly barley salaries, annual wool or garment salaries, grain and vegetable harvests from land, gifts, and others. The income and additional variables, such as profession and gender, enable the investigation of income inequality. Der Datensatz basiert auf der Dissertation "The Rich and the Poor, A Study on Income Inequality of Presargonic Girsu and Ur III Umma".
