The data compiled here on the journeys undertaken by the consorts of monarchs from Austria, Prussia and Saxony was researched and analysed for the doctoral thesis entitled ‘The Beautiful Face of the Monarchy: On the Political Role of Monarchs’ Consorts in 19th-Century Prussia, Saxony and Austria’, submitted to Ludwig-Maximilian-University of Munich in 2024/25. The travel records for the six royal consorts were sourced from court records relating to travel held at the House, Court and State Archives in Vienna, the Secret State Archives of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation in Berlin and the Saxon Main State Archives in Dresden, as well as from newspaper reports. 
For each monarchy examined (Prussia, Saxony, Austria), an Excel spreadsheet was created in which the travel records for the respective two consorts were entered.
