Assets to "Coupled planetary wave dynamics in the polar stratosphere analyzed with potential enstrophy and eddy energy budgets" by Rupp et al. (2025) in the Journal of Atmospheric Sciences This repository contains data files used in the associated publication (DOI: https://doi.org/10.1175/JAS-D-24-0249.1). The files include output from an idealized model simulation and energy/enstrophy budget terms for both the idealized case and the two reanalysis-based case studies of the 2003 and 2021 sudden stratospheric warming events. All budgets are averaged over 45–75N and vertically, as used in the paper.
