It is not uncommon for numerous linguistic expressions to already be available in the selectable categories of the 'interactive map'. For example, searching for the 'concept' BUTTER leads to 1748 records. It is therefore possible to group and sort all relevant expressions according to different criteria: cf. concept BUTTER.
Sorting by base types shows the areas of distribution across linguistic borders – the Romance type butyru(m) in the German-speaking area and the German type Schmalz in the Romance area: cf. map.
A corresponding option is also given for searching morpho-lexical types. The sorting according to the criterion 'concept' is of particular interest, regardless of the covered linguistic area, because it reveals the polysemy of each expression (cf. morpho-lexical type malga).
As a result, the following definitions, which are clearly metonymically interconnected, are generated: cf. map – polysemy of the morpho-lexical type.
